Dr. Vytas K. Kerpe, MD

Dr. Kerpe began his practice in 1979. Although he has a particular interest in diabetes and kidney disease, he continues to enjoy the general practice of Internal Medicine.

He earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He then did postgraduate work in Pathology at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Kerpe became Board Certified in Internal Medicine after completing his residency at Loyola University Foster G. McGaw Hospital in Maywood, Illinois, following which he moved to Sheboygan.

During his years in Sheboygan he has been instrumental in developing and is currently the director of the St. Nicholas Hospital Diabetes Program. He has also developed a special interest in kidney failure, resulting in the development of the St. Nicholas Hospital Dialysis Unit.

Dr. Kerpe has served as chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine, and is currently the President of The Medical Staff at St. Nicholas Hospital. He remains active in the American Diabetes Association and the American College of Physicians.

His personal interests include bicycling, scuba diving, fishing, and sailing.
