As we age, our bones may become weaker and thinner. This test detects osteoporosis, or thinning of the bones.  A scan, which takes about 45 minutes, is done while you are dressed.  Follow up after the exam includes complete education about the results, and osteoporosis treatment and prevention.

The International Society for Clinical Densitometry recognizes that our nurse practitioners have participated in their Bone Densitometry Course and have successfully completed the exam. Our participating staff are now referred to as Certified Clinician Densitometrists.
