Ambulatory Blood Pressure Testingand Holter & Event Monitors

For some people, visiting a medical office can raise their blood pressure so some readings we take at our office may not be normal. These monitors allow a more accurate reading of your blood pressure over time in everyday situations. With the ABP, a blood pressure cuff is attached to one arm and a small recording device gathers information over a 24 hour period.

For the Holter and Event Monitors, patches are attached to your chest and a small monitor records your heart rate/rhythm. The Holter monitor works through a 24 or 48 hour time frame. The Event monitor can be worn for as many as 30 days. When you experience a change in heart activity you simply call our office and via the phone line the monitor relays information to us. The tests allow us to identify the specific times you experience changes in heart beat.
